Coffee, tea, wine, and other food products have the ability to stain our teeth, leaving them yellow and dull. Teeth whitening can restore the natural color of your teeth, leaving them looking healthy. We offer both In-Office Whitening and At-Home Whitening.
ZOOM! In-Office Teeth Whitening
In-Office Whitening usually requires only one office visit. Teeth whitening is the process of lightening the shade of the teeth by using safe chemical agents. In-Office Whitening usually requires only one office visit. A protective gel or a rubber shield is placed over the gums to protect the soft tissue. A bleaching agent containing carbamide peroxide is applied to the teeth, and a laser light is then used to enhance the action of the whitening agent.
At Home Whitening
For those patients looking for a quick and inexpensive way to whiten before a social event, prom, wedding, etc, we offer a 7 day take home whitening system.
We utilize a 2-step custom tray whitening system.
The first step is to make an impression of your teeth. With this impression, we’ll design a custom bleaching tray so you can maintain your bright smile at home.
In the second step, you will use a whitening gel to be used in the tray. This will result in a whiter smile by 2-4 shades in a matter of days.
Risks and Side Effects:
Gum Sensitivity: One common problem teeth whitening is that it can cause teeth sensitivity, especially if you are prone to sensitive gums. Gum sensitivity is temporary and can be treated with the proper treatment plan. Please consult with Dr. Paes if you are experiencing gum and teeth sensitivity post teeth whitening.
Results can vary based on:
- Original state of discoloration.
- Whether the patient wears the trays as directed by Dr. Paes.
- Lifestyle and dietary habits (whether or not there is excessive coffee, tea, and wine consumption).
Diminished Results: Please be aware that results will fade over time. Unlike porcelain veneers, which are stain resistant, natural teeth are still able to absorb stains.
